Woodland Elves
These more northern Elves are very different from their souther cousins in a cultural sense, but remain the exact same in a physical manner. As suggested by the name, they live chiefly within forested areas. Their religion could not be more vastly different than that of the High Elves. To a Woodland Elf, the world is a shrine. They worship nature and revere it, considering it to be the lifegiving force that ultimately determines one's destiny. Anywhere is a suitable place to worship, and any time is a right time to pray. Oftentimes the best ways to tell if a Woodland Elf is nearby is the presence of makeshift place of worships at the base of a tree or the like.
Because of their reverence for nature, Woodland Elf clerics are unheard of. Any religious leaders or teachers would be druids, wich is a very common class. Rangers and rogues are the msot adept hunters, rogues for their many ways of stalking prey, and rangers for their skill with a bow. Barbarians are more common than fighters, but fighters, as well as wizards, are not unheard of. Sorcerers are by far more common than wizards, because they often lack the discipline to study like a wizard needs to, and anyway most that do take up the path of an arcanist try to integrate themselves into High Elf society. It rarely works, so most are somewhat outcast. However, they cannot escape their hsitory, and they do have a natural talent for arcanistry. Paladins will often multiclass into druid, seeing themselves as divine protectors of the wild. Rarely, they will crusade against High Elves, thinking their haughty cousins should be exterminated. Bards are uncommon, but most certainly not undeard of. Likewise are Woodland Elf monks (because of a lack of organized monastaries) but the few who dedicate themselves so wholly to their spiritual side to follow the path of a monk are some of the best.
A certain sect of Woodland Elves worship draconic demigods; however, they do so differently than their cousins. These elves, called the "Winterborn" (so called because they are unfailingly born outdoors during snowfall) are very likely to become sorcerers or wizards, and tend to move very far north, some even into the Han Tundra. Typically, they live in groups together. They are the only Elves who have blue eyes - even those that lack the characteristic white or grey hair will have the blue eyes.
